Country Women's Association Cookbook
I recently bought a "Country Women's Association Cookbook", since I don't have either Grandmother's or my mother's daily cookbooks.
Whilst I'm NOT working, and being a 50s housewife, I thought I would cook random things out of the book. I'll never get through EVERYTHING, but at least I can sample and show off my wares.
The first is a Cinnamon Scroll.
I have made these twice now, and the second batch turned out well, and actually look like scrolls! The secret is, don't make these when it's 32 degrees, the butter will melt, and they will stick to your bench (I have also found that rolling out on wax paper works as well). Second secret is to use a very thin lifter as you roll.
The verdict? Super easy and tasty.
